Websites for trades
What should a roofing website actually include?
The essentials that help a homeowner understand your roofing business, see your work and ask for a quote.

Start with the roofing work you actually do
A homeowner with a leaking flat roof should not have to guess whether you can help. Name your services clearly and explain them in language a customer would use. A broad claim such as “all roofing work” tells them less than a short, accurate service list.
Group related work: repairs and leaks, new roofs, flat roofs, and fascias or guttering. Only include work your business undertakes. If a service needs a visit before you can quote, say so.
Show real projects with a little context
Photos help customers understand your work, but captions make them more useful. Explain the problem, the work carried out and the type of roof. Avoid presenting stock photography as a completed job.
Before-and-after pairs are helpful when the change is visible. Keep the images clear, obtain permission where needed and remove private details such as house numbers or vehicle registrations when appropriate.
- Choose a few clear projects rather than dozens of similar photos.
- Explain the material or work shown without unexplained jargon.
- Use approximate locations where exact addresses are unnecessary.
- Only display testimonials you have permission to publish.
Answer practical questions before the phone rings
State your service area, normal contact hours and how quote requests work. If you offer urgent repairs, explain the actual availability. Do not promise an immediate response if you cannot deliver it.
Accreditations and insurance details can reassure a customer when they are current and accurate. They should be supplied by the business and checked before publication. A logo is not a substitute for a truthful explanation.
Make a quote request easy on mobile
A visible phone link and a short form give people two straightforward ways to contact you. Ask for their area and a brief description of the problem. You can request more details after the first conversation.
Use readable text, a fast-loading gallery and a clear next step. The website does not need to look complicated to look professional. Its job is to help a homeowner feel informed enough to get in touch.
